HOSTELS FOR CHILDREN IN CARE
During March of this year, I asked the minister a question about the Department for Child Protection’s Placement Services Procedure Manual. My question was specifically about section 2.3, which set out the procedures for children leaving the hostel premises of their own volition. As some children were still leaving the hostel of their own volition, this section was to be revised in March. Has that placement procedure manual been revised; and, if so, what is the outcome of that revision? Hon SUE ELLERY

I thank the member for the question. I am sorry, but I am not sure that I am able to give her an answer without checking. I have certainly had discussions about that procedures manual. I had discussions fairly early on, when the issue first arose, about what needed to be included in the manual. I will have to get back to the member with that information, and I am happy to do that as quickly as I can.
