Since 2017, there has been a six percent increase in the total number of education assistants in Western Australian public schools.
The McGowan Government’s education assistants election commitment has seen an additional 300 FTE education assistants allocated to approximately 238 schools since 2018.
Schools make local decisions regarding employment of education assistants to meet the needs of their student cohort. Therefore numbers will change from year to year at individual schools.
(a)   and (b)  The response provides data for public schools only.
