1187. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the minister
representing the Minister for Environment:
(1) Has the ''Wellington
National Park, Westralia Conservation Park and Wellington Discovery Forest
Management Plan 2008'' been amended since it was put in place?
(2) If yes to (1), will the minister
provide details of the amendments?
(3) If no to (1),
why has the removal and/or harvesting of trees in Wellington Discovery Forest
exceeded the intended target of 10-hectare sections of the management zone
every 10 years over a 200-year rotation?
(4) Has research
been conducted within Wellington Discovery Forest on the ecology, research and
management zones within the area?
(5) If yes to
(4), have the results of this research been made public? If the results of this
research have not been made public, will the minister indicate where such
results can be found; and, if not, why not?
(6) What does the
minister consider to be the role of the Friends of Wellington Discovery Forest
group in the ongoing management of the area?

initial treatment in 1992, an additional area of 19 hectares was treated in
2016. This is within the target of 10 hectares every 10 years.
