(i) The above figures have been obtained from month end creditors control account aged analysis.
(ii) Invoices greater than 30 days have been paid by 6 July 2007.
(iii) The Department of Education and Training makes every effort to pay creditors within 30 days, however there are circumstances under which this is not possible. Examples, which are reflected in the figures provided below are:
Late Billing
Some creditors do not submit invoices for more than 30 days after the goods or services are supplied. The date recorded in the finance system is the date of the invoice (not the date the invoice is received) and therefore such invoices will appear as outstanding for more than 30 days even if they are paid on the day they are received. Accounts in dispute are not approved for payment until any dispute is resolved.
Grant Payments
Grant payments are not made until the Department is satisfied that any required milestones have been met. This can cause delays in payment. Misdirected invoices payment can be delayed if invoices are incorrectly addressed.
