Aldridge who is absent from the chamber on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to the prohibitions on
regional travel directions issued by the State Emergency Coordinator and to
question without notice 314, answered on 1 April 2020.
(1) How many
motor vehicles and persons have presented to police checkpoints, whether mobile
or fixed, under the directions mentioned above?
(2) Of those
identified in (1), how many motor vehicles and persons have been permitted
passage through the checkpoints?
(3) Has a frequently-asked-questions document been
published to assist people with interpreting the directions , and
particularly those mentioned in parts (3) and (4) of Legislative Council question
without notice 314?
(4) When will the efficacy of
intrastate travel restrictions be reviewed?

some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Police.
The Western Australia Police Force
advises the following.
(1) As of 16
April 2020, approximately 185 237 vehicles carrying approximately 232 965
people have presented to checkpoints.
(2) Approximately
230 319 people have been permitted to pass through the checkpoints.
Approximately 2 646 persons have been refused passage; a refusal rate of 1.13 per
cent.
(3) Information is available on the state government's
COVID-19 website and the COVID-19 hotline, 13 COVID.
(4) The prohibition on regional travel directions are
subject to review, with changes announced by the Premier.
