RICHARD MUIRHEAD — APPOINTMENT
1. 211. Hon SUE ELLERY to
the Minister for Commerce:
I refer to the announcement by former minister Hon Simon O'Brien and
Minister Grylls in June 2012 concerning the appointment of Mr Richard Muirhead
as chair of the Pilbara maritime common use facility steering committee.
(1) Did Mr Muirhead
declare any other paid employment, contractual arrangements or potential
conflicts of interest ahead of his appointment, including via the company
Spiral Consulting?
(2) Was Mr Muirhead asked to provide any such information
ahead of his appointment?
(3) Since his appointment, has Mr Muirhead made any
declarations as listed in (1)?
(4) If yes to (1) or (3), what were the details of the
declaration?
(5) What has
been Mr Muirhead's total remuneration for work on the steering
committee since his appointment?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Yes.
(2) No.
(3) Yes.
(4) Mr Muirhead
advised of the contract with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. Mr Muirhead
also advised of his appointment as chair of the Metropolitan Redevelopment
Authority in January 2013.
(5) For the first six months of Mr Muirhead's
12-month contract, the total remuneration was $12 040.
