My question is completely without notice. As the minister would be aware, I am a very strong, vocal and passionate supporter of Rally Australia. I would be interested to receive an update on what is happening with Rally Australia. Mr C.M. BROWN

I am pleased to announce that the Western Australian Tourism Commission and the Confederation of Australian Motorsport have reached agreement, and that agreement has now been approved by the International Federation of Motorsport. During a recent visit to London I met with Mr Max Mosley, the President of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, and we had very cordial discussions. As a result of the good work that has been done, that event will now be held here. It is interesting that the Opposition was calling on the Government to sign an agreement that would have enabled this event to be removed from Western Australia. We saw hysterical outcallings by Opposition members. I am pleased that this event will now be held in Western Australia. I am pleased that following those discussions we will continue to see it held here, because the provision that caused us most concern - on which we have been able to reach agreement - is not contained in the current agreement. Mr R.F. Johnson: Will you take an interjection? Mr C.M. BROWN: I might. Mr R.F. Johnson: Either you will or you will not. The SPEAKER: No, he will not.
