I refer to the following news.com.au report of Premier Roger Cook’s speech at the 2024 Gala Dinner of the Australian Indian Medical Association WA (AIMAWA) in November 2024, https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/anxiety-ama-western-australia-raises-concerns-about-influx-of-150-indian-registrars/news-story/5cde1e905352585779784f7020f7fb36, in which the Premier is reported as saying an influx of trainee doctors from India “will arrive in Perth, ready to work across the State, in January 2025” , with confirmation from the health department that the number would be up to 150, and I ask : (a) How many trainee doctors from India began work in the WA public health system in each of the following months: (i) January 2025; (ii) February 2025; (iii) March 2025; (iv) April 2025; and (v) May 2025; (b) In what hospitals, clinics or other services were the doctors referred to in (a) employed ; and (c) Is the Minister aware of any concerns raised by the Australian Medical Association about the impact on training opportunities for locally trained medical registrars?
