These regulations amend the Building Regulations 2012 to address bush fire performance requirements for certain building applications. They introduce a definition of 'accredited person' and 'transitional bush fire application', and require a statement from an accredited person for transitional bush fire applications.
Building owners and applicants for Class 1a and associated Class 10a buildings located less than 6 meters from a Class 1a building, particularly those with 'transitional bush fire applications' made before 1 May 2019, are affected. They must now obtain a statement from an accredited person outlining bush fire risks and potential impacts.
