These regulations amend the Debt Collectors Licensing Regulations 1964, the Employment Agents Regulations 1976, and the Street Collections Regulations 1999 to reflect a change in departmental responsibility from the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. They also update references to legislation.
Businesses and individuals interacting with these regulatory schemes will need to direct their correspondence and payments to the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. The update to the Street Collections Regulations also reflects the current Fair Trading Act.
