These regulations amend the Criminal Procedure Regulations 2005 to allow courts to issue arrest warrants, remand warrants, and warrants to imprison a witness electronically via the courts electronic system. It also updates the heading of regulation 5A to 'Warrants issued electronically'.
Courts and law enforcement agencies will be affected by the change, as they will now be able to issue certain warrants electronically. This may streamline the warrant process and improve efficiency.
