These regulations amend the Environmental Protection (Clearing of Native Vegetation) Regulations 2004 to address the publication and confidentiality of information related to clearing permits and referrals. They specify what information the CEO must keep as public records and under what circumstances the CEO can keep documentation confidential.
Businesses and individuals applying for clearing permits or submitting clearing referrals will be affected. They can request confidentiality for trade secrets or commercially sensitive information. The CEO must also keep BSB and bank account numbers confidential.
