These regulations amend the Gaming and Wagering Commission Regulations 1988 to define 'customer loyalty scheme' and 'gambling advertisement', and to regulate gambling advertisements and inducements, including restrictions and exceptions related to customer loyalty schemes and responsible gambling messaging.
Gambling operators are affected by new restrictions on advertising and inducements, including requirements for responsible gambling messaging. Publishers of gambling advertisements must obtain written approval from the gambling operator. Consumers are affected by changes to how gambling operators can offer benefits and rewards.
