These regulations amend the Industrial Relations Commission Regulations 2005 to insert Part 9C, which outlines the process for appeals against retirement on medical grounds for police officers under the Police Act 1892 section 33ZI.

Police officers appealing medical retirement decisions are affected by new procedures for filing appeals, responses, and document submissions. The Commissioner of Police also has new obligations regarding responses and reformulated reasons.
