These regulations amend the Local Government (Functions and General) Regulations 1996. They increase the threshold for certain local government procurement activities from $150,000 to $250,000 and update the definition of an Indigenous supplier.
Local governments are affected by the increased procurement threshold, allowing them more flexibility in awarding contracts. Indigenous businesses registered with Supply Nation are now explicitly recognized as preferred suppliers.
