These rules amend the Magistrates Court (Civil Proceedings) Rules 2005 to insert new rules 131CA and 131CB regarding the process for fixing hearings and preparing/serving restraining orders under the Restraining Orders Act 1997.
Individuals involved in restraining order applications, including applicants, respondents, and the police, will be affected by the new procedures for hearings, summons, and order preparation/service. Registrars will have new duties regarding these processes.
