📜 Magistrates Court (Civil Proceedings) Amendment Rules (No. 2) 2020
These rules amend the Magistrates Court (Civil Proceedings) Rules 2005 to incorporate the use of the Electronic Case Management System (ECMS) for various processes, including applications for Family Violence Restraining Orders (FVROs) and Violence Restraining Orders (VROs). They also make minor amendments to forms and procedures related to these orders.
Applicants for FVROs and VROs, their legal representatives (approved users of the ECMS), and the Magistrates Court will be affected. Approved users can now lodge applications and manage related processes through the ECMS. The police will receive copies of orders via ECMS. Court processes will be streamlined through electronic record-keeping.
