📜 Occupational Safety and Health Amendment Regulations 2021
RegulationsSL 2021/315 January 2021
Principal Act
These regulations amend the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996, specifically Schedule 5.3, by replacing the requirement for a chest X-ray with a low dose high resolution computed tomography (CT) scan for crystalline silica exposure monitoring.
Workers potentially exposed to crystalline silica dust will now undergo low dose high resolution CT scans instead of chest X-rays for health monitoring. This change affects employers who must now arrange for the updated testing and healthcare providers who must perform the new type of scan.
