These regulations amend the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 to allow the Minister for Planning to issue exemptions from planning requirements during a state of emergency. It also mandates a review of Schedule 2 Part 10B after three years.
Local governments, developers, and landowners are affected. The Minister can temporarily waive planning requirements to facilitate emergency response and recovery. A review of the changes will occur after 3 years, impacting future planning decisions.
