📜 Public Health Amendment Regulations 2018
Regulations7 Dec 2018 p. 4663-67 December 2018
Principal Act
These regulations amend the Public Health Regulations 2017 to insert Part 2A, which deals with the immunisation status of children attending schools. It mandates the provision of immunisation status certificates and allows the Chief Health Officer to request reports, prevent non-immunised children from attending, and close schools to prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases.
Schools are affected by new reporting and compliance obligations related to student immunisation. Parents/guardians are required to provide immunisation status certificates. The Chief Health Officer gains powers to manage school attendance and closures during outbreaks.
