These regulations amend the Road Traffic (Administration) Regulations 2014. They increase demerit points for certain offences related to impaired driving, specifically sections 62B(1), (4) and (5), 62C(1), 64AA and 64AAA of the Road Traffic Act.
Drivers who commit offences under sections 62B, 62C, 64AA and 64AAA of the Road Traffic Act will incur higher demerit points. This may lead to licence suspension for repeat offenders.
