These regulations amend the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014 to introduce a reduced vehicle licence charge for classic vehicles and redefine 'street rod vehicle'. They also replace references to 'vehicle licence fee' with 'vehicle licence charge'.
Owners of classic vehicles (street rods or vehicles manufactured before 1990) may be eligible for a 75% reduction in vehicle licence charges if they are members of an approved motoring organisation and meet usage restrictions. Approved motoring organisations are also affected.
