These regulations amend the Settlement Agents Regulations 1982 to update the prescribed examinations required for obtaining a settlement agent license. It allows a Diploma of Conveyancing to be accepted for applications made before 1 January 2025.
Applicants for settlement agent licenses are affected. Those applying before 1 January 2025 can use a Diploma of Conveyancing. After that date, an Advanced Diploma is required. Training providers are also affected as they must offer the relevant courses.
