These regulations amend the Taxi Regulations 1995 and the Transport (Country Taxi-cars Fares) Regulations 1991 regarding contract fares and voucher use. They clarify the conditions under which agreed contract fares can exceed the standard metered fare when vouchers are used.
Taxi operators and passengers are affected. Operators must ensure contract fares using vouchers do not exceed the metered fare. Passengers using vouchers for contract fares benefit from a cap on the agreed fare.
