These regulations amend the Mooring Regulations 1998 to update definitions, clarify mooring site designations, and revise rules for installing and using moorings in mooring control areas. They also address the removal of unauthorized moorings and the responsibilities of vessel owners.

Vessel owners and operators in Western Australian mooring control areas are affected. They must comply with new rules regarding mooring installation, usage, and display of identification stickers. The CEO gains increased authority over mooring management, including removal of unauthorized moorings.
