These regulations amend the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008. Key changes include updating the location for publishing information to the Department's website, clarifying the definition of false information, and introducing a new Part 3A regarding annual waste return requirements for liable persons.
Local governments providing waste services, occupiers of premises treating/processing waste, and licensees of landfills outside the metropolitan region are affected. They must now comply with new annual reporting obligations, including providing specific information on waste and recycling activities to the CEO.
