📜 Wholesale Electricity Market Rules Amending Rules 2018
Rules27 Apr 2018 p. 1421-427 April 2018
Principal Act
These rules amend the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules to reflect the abolition of the Independent Market Operator (IMO) and transfer of its functions to the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) and AEMO. It also includes transitional arrangements for the IMO's final financial report and adjustments to market fees.
Electricity market participants are affected by the changes in responsibilities and fee structures. AEMO will now handle certain functions previously performed by the IMO, and adjustments to AEMO's allowable revenue and market fees will occur. The ERA takes on some of the IMO's responsibilities.
