These regulations amend the Working with Children (Criminal Record Checking) Regulations 2005 to include additional offences related to grooming and child abuse material in Schedule 2, which lists offences relevant to working with children checks.
Organisations and individuals involved in activities requiring a Working with Children Check will be affected, as the scope of offences considered in the screening process is expanded. This may lead to more individuals being deemed unsuitable to work with children.
