🚌 Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN) - Cloud Connectivity Procurement

WA's Public Transport Authority awarded Data#3 a contract for Phase 2 of its SDWAN cloud connectivity, boosting redundancy and supporting future tech upgrades.

In 2022, the PTA began developing a cloud solution for data backup and cloud services through private connectivity. A High-Level Design was created to meet the requirements of this cloud solution using an SDWAN underlay design. The PTA conducted an initial consultation with our Cisco partner to review and validate the SDWAN solution and the High-Level Design. Cisco provided a private direct connection to the cloud with a data centre redundancy setup. However, due to fibre constraints between PTC and Vocus DC, the business decided to complete the single data centre connection from the Malaga Data Centre. Cisco designed the solution in two phases: Phase 1 involved setting up a private cloud connection from Malaga DC with internet transport as a secondary path. Phase 2 was designed to complete the PTC DC private cloud transport connection. Phase 1 is now in service. The PTA is now looking to complete Phase 2, as this setup will facilitate the upcoming PBX (Private Branch Exchange) replacement project by enabling connections to the Cisco private cloud through a private transport layer with a full redundancy solution.

The Public Transport Authority awarded a contract valued at an estimated $380,602 via the CUA CUAICTS2021 procurement method to Data#3 Limited. There were 2 submissions.
