Tender description
The Department of Health will soon release a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking a specialist innovation partner (or consortium) to establish and operate the Murray Street Launchpad.
The Launchpad will be a Perth CBD-based innovation hub focused on supporting biomedical entrepreneurs and early-stage startups to progress commercially viable ideas from ideation through to proof?of?concept and initial investment readiness, particularly in areas such as medical technology, digital health and therapeutics.
The Launchpad is intended to provide a clear entry point into WA's health and biomedical innovation ecosystem, connecting innovators with the networks, expertise and support needed to progress ideas towards commercialisation.
Through the RFP process, a suitable Respondent will be identified to be appointed the Launchpad Operator, responsible for delivering a comprehensive suite of startup support services, including incubator and accelerator programs, mentorship, commercialisation advice, and connections to investors, industry and specialist expertise.
The Launchpad Operator will also activate and manage the Launchpad facility, including events, residency programs, maker space and shared workspaces, while optimising utilisation and developing sustainable revenue opportunities.
In addition, the Launchpad Operator will promote and market the Launchpad to attract participants, partners and investment, and foster strong collaboration across universities, research institutes, health services and industry. The Launchpad will operate under a market-led model, with the operator leading day-to-day delivery in partnership with the Department of Health to drive innovation, investment and commercialisation outcomes across WA’s health and biomedical sector.
