Summary
WA DTMI is selling an impounded, unidentified 6-metre pink yacht from Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, requiring purchase and removal offers.
Tender description
The Item for purchase and removal is an unidentified pink yacht approximately 6 metres in length.
The vessel is currently moored within the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour at the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) Marine Operations Centre, 14 Capo D’Orlando Drive, South Fremantle, Western Australia.
The vessel was first reported to be secured to recreational mooring 616 in the Swan & Canning Mooring Control Area (MCA) on 25 May 2026. The unidentified yacht was moored in contravention of the marine legislation as defined under regulation 40C(2)(b).
Since then, efforts to identify and contact the owner have been unsuccessful. Accordingly, and pursuant to regulation 40K (Obstruction Notice) of the Navigable Waters Regulations 1958 (NWR), the vessel was transported to Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour by DTMI Compliance Officers. The bracket supporting the mast is broken; however, the mast remains securely attached to the vessel and has sustained no damage.
The Item is being sold pursuant to regulation 42(a) of the Navigable Waters Regulations 1958. DTMI is seeking offers for the purchase and removal of this vessel and all remnants as described below.
Please provide a removal plan and timeframe in which the vessel is to be removed. Works to make the vessel fit for transport are supported however, works to restore or modify the vessel in its current moored location are not permitted.
