Tender description
The Aquatic Science and Assessment Branch, a division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is responsible for delivering aquatic resource assessment programs that contributes to informed and risk-based decision making for the conservation, sustainable development and management of Western Australia’s fisheries and aquatic resources. To support its delivery of world-class research and monitoring operations for a wide variety of projects and fisheries at numerous locations along the Western Australian coast, DPIRD requires the services of an experienced marine boat builder to build and supply of one (1) or two (2) 6.3 metre aluminium centre console vessel/s to replace its aging fleet. Option 1: DPIRD is seeking a replacement to operate as a multipurpose research platform for diving, trapping, line fishing, etc. The replacement, Vessel 1, has been designed to 6.3m and will require a heavy-duty drive-on trailer. The combined mass of the trailer and vessel complete with all fuels, fluids, and operational equipment, including the tow ball weight, must not exceed 3,200 kg. The vessel is required to be surveyed to Class 2C. Option 2: Deliver Vessel 1 and a second, Vessel 2, which is a similarly designed sistership with modifications specific to shark tagging. This vessel is also 6.3m and will require a heavy-duty drive-on trailer. The combined mass of the trailer and vessel complete with all fuels, fluids, and operational equipment, including the tow ball weight, must not exceed 3,400 kg. The vessel is required to be surveyed to Class 2C. The Respondent is required to provide a response to build and supply both Options 1 and 2 in its Offer. The second vessel is optional to DPIRD (Option 2) at its sole discretion.
