WA Health awarded a $212,850 contract to Cathara Consulting for a Project Manager to advance the Smart Referrals project, improving patient access to care.

Smart Referrals Western Australia (SRWA) is a major strategic project, foundational enabling technology and key priority deliverable of the WA Health Outpatient Reform Program under Sustainable Health Review Recommendation 11. The project will deliver the technology and process improvements to streamline and standardise the submission and management of referrals from primary care providers to the Department of Health’s (Department) Central Referral Service (CRS) and public hospitals to improve patient access to timely, connected, quality care. As part of Release 2.0 of the project, Health Link have been engaged to develop electronic Smart Forms to support the General Practitioners (GPs), Nurse practitioners and private specialists. An initial pilot will include a minimum of three Smart Forms deployed to a selected cohort of referrers (GPs/Nurse practitioners/private specialists). The program is seeking the service of a Project Manager, to continue to support the next phase of the program. These workstreams have high dependency relationships, and will be delivered by cross function internal, external and clinical teams, so strong relationship, stakeholder and vendor delivery skills are essential.

Health Support Services awarded a fixed-price contract worth $212,850 to Cathara Consulting via the CUA CUAICTS2021 (Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Services Common Use Arrangement) procurement method. There was one submission.
