The Radiation Oncology Department is seeking to procure a new 3D water phantom to support critical quality assurance (QA) processes in radiation therapy. This equipment is essential for the commissioning and re-commissioning of radiation therapy machines, as well as for conducting annual QA and major post-repair QA procedures. These activities are mandated by departmental policy, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and international radiation oncology regulatory bodies to ensure the safety, accuracy, and effectiveness of patient treatments. The new phantom will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of patient care and operational safety, ensuring that all radiation therapy machines function within prescribed tolerances.
