Summary
DBCA awarded a $1.68M contract for 90 slip-on fire units to enhance firefighting capabilities, supplied by a panel of two contractors via Limited Sourcing.
Tender description
The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) seeks to procure up to 90 slip-on fire units over a three-year period. Slip-on fire units are mobile firefighting systems mounted onto the back of utility vehicles, trucks, or trailers. These units are built for quick deployment and are an integral part of bush fire suppression, prescribed burns, emergency response, and property protection. These units are intended for use on light fleet vehicles to support firefighting activities. DBCA requires these units to be available in various configurations and they must be either constructed from fibreglass or aluminium to meet different operational needs. Slip on fire units will significantly enhance the department's firefighting capabilities, enabling rapid response and effective management of fire incidents. The required units will have capacities of approximately 400 litres and 600 litres. These units must be designed to be low-profile, compact, and very sturdy. DBCA intend to appoint a panel of suppliers with standing offers under Head Agreements for the provision of the units. DBCA will place various orders for units with the panel suppliers throughout the Term.
