Summary
DTMI seeks a contractor for a five-year bike infrastructure project to support active transport in schools, funded by the 'Connecting Schools Grant' program.
Tender description
The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) delivers the Your Move Schools program, a behaviour change initiative that works with schools, workplaces and communities to increase walking, bike riding, scooting, and public transport use, while reducing car trips. Through the Your Move Schools program, DTMI also administers the Connecting Schools Grant program, which provides eligible schools with funding for cycling infrastructure, road safety initiatives and end-of-trip facilities, encouraging active transport and helping to reduce traffic congestion and parking pressures around schools.
The packages are jointly funded by DTMI with some support from the Department of Education (DoE). With the original Connecting Schools Grant Infrastructure contract concluding, DTMI is now looking for a Contractor to supply, install and advise on bike infrastructure projects for the next five years, as funding for the Connecting Schools grant program has been allocated for this period.
