Summary

WA's DTMI is acquiring two new hydrographic survey vessels (10m and 7.5m) with trailers to replace aging fleet for maritime safety and infrastructure management

Tender description

The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) Hydrographic Survey Section is responsible for conducting hydrographic surveys to support safe navigation, maritime infrastructure management, and hazard identification within Western Australian waters.

The Hydrographic Survey Section undertakes coastal, port, channel, offshore and inland waterway surveys across metropolitan, regional and remote locations throughout Western Australia in support of DTMI’s maritime safety and infrastructure management functions.

To support this function, DTMI requires the design, supply and delivery of two (2) hydrographic survey vessels with road-licensed trailers - one vessel approximately 10 metres in length and one vessel approximately 7.5 metres in length.

These vessels will replace DTMI’s existing hydrographic survey vessels of similar length, which are approaching the end of their operational service life.
