The council of the Town of Claremont resolved on 6 February 2024 to make the following local law under the Dog Act 1976, the Cat Act 2011, and the Local Government Act 1995. This local law may be cited as the Town of Claremont Animal Local Law 2024 and comes into operation 14 days after publication in the Government Gazette. The purpose is to provide for the regulation, control and management of the keeping of dogs and cats within the district.

Appoints Declan Fanning as Chief Bush Fire Control Officer, Hamish Reeves as Deputy Bush Fire Control Officer, and Clare Haunold, Steve Erceg, and Abdur Soobrattee as Bush Fire Control Officers, cancelling all previous appointments.
Approves an amendment to the Town of Claremont Local Planning Scheme No. 3 to rezone land along Stirling Highway and Reserve Street to 'Highway' and amend residential density codes.
Approves amendment to the Town of Claremont Local Planning Scheme No. 3 regarding short-term rental accommodation.
