A voluntary fisheries adjustment scheme is established, called the Northern Demersal Scalefish Managed Fishery Voluntary Fisheries Adjustment Scheme 2026. The scheme allows persons authorised to operate in Area 1 of the Fishery to surrender authorisations, to facilitate leaving the Fishery. The scheme does not apply to the surrender of an authorisation conferring the authority to fish in Area 2 of the Fishery. Invitations for offers to surrender authorisations must be made not later than 29 May 2026. The scheme commences operation on the date this notice is published and ceases on 18 December 2026.
