The Legal Services Council has made the Legal Profession Uniform Legal Practice (Solicitors) Amendment Rules 2026 under the Legal Profession Uniform Law. These rules amend the Legal Profession Uniform Legal Practice (Solicitors) Rules 2015 by inserting Rule 12 regarding retainer agreements, which should inform clients about statutory obligations, potential termination due to ethical duties, and prohibitions on providing reasons for termination.
