In accordance with section 7 of the Water Services Act 2012, the Hon Dave Kelly MLA, Minister for Water, has granted an exemption from the application of section 5(1) of the Act to Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd for the provision of a non-potable water service in Dampier. The exempted water service involves the supply of treated wastewater, sourced from the Dampier Wastewater Treatment Plant, to third parties for the purpose of non-agricultural irrigation. The exemption will come into effect on the day it is published in the Government Gazette and is valid for an indefinite period.
