Notice Text

To assist in the control of bushfires, all owners and/or occupiers of land within the City of Joondalup’s district are required before the 31st day of October in each year to remove flammable material and/or clear firebreaks. Specifications for vacant land, land with an area of 2,000m²/0.2ha or more, and land with buildings are detailed. The prohibited burning period is between 15 December to 31 March inclusive each year. Failure to comply can result in fines up to $250 and in the case of major offences may result in Court action with fines up to $5,000.
