Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers of land within the City of Vincent are required to clear inflammable matter on or before October 31, 2018, and thereafter up to and including April 30, 2019. Land 2000m² or less must be cleared entirely, while larger land requires 3-meter firebreaks. The penalty for non-compliance is a fine of up to $5,000.00. Burning garden refuse is prohibited between October 31, 2018, and April 30, 2019.
