The Council of the Shire of Murray resolved to adopt requirements in accordance with section 24G of the Bush Fires Act 1954 regarding burning garden refuse or rubbish during limited burning times. Burning is prohibited on land under 4,000m² during the Limited Burning Time (1 October to 15 May). Additional restrictions apply, including time limits, presence of a person, and contacting DFES. Burning is prohibited during high fire danger forecasts or total fire bans. The Shire of Murray Health Local Law 2018 further restricts burning.
