The legal costs committee has complied with the notice provisions of section 139 of the act. The committee is satisfied it is appropriate to continue to adopt hourly rates charged by law practices as the basis for the rates used in the legal profession (non-contentious business) determination 2023. It is the recommendation of the committee that the hourly rates be varied from the hourly rates used in the legal profession (solicitors costs) determination 2021.
