These regulations amend the Prisons Regulations 1982. Regulation 78 is amended regarding prisoner searches, specifying that searches must be ordered by the superintendent under section 41(1) of the Act and can include electronic scanning. The superintendent must ensure prisoners are searched upon admission and discharge. Other searches can occur as deemed necessary by the superintendent.
