Requirement under the Bush Fires Act 1954 Section 33. Failure to comply may incur penalties up to $5,000. Owners/occupiers of land in the City of Karratha are required to clear and maintain mineral earth breaks and reduce fuel load by November 1st. Includes specifications for land in and outside townsites, powerlines, pipelines, explosives magazines, fuel depots, and railway reserves. Applications to vary firebreak requirements must be submitted by August 30th.
