The Shire of Augusta Margaret River requires owners/occupiers of land to carry out fire prevention work by 30 November 2023 and maintain it until 12 May 2024, except for APZs which must be maintained all year round, as per Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954. Inspections can be arranged by 1 November 2023. Non-compliance may result in a $250 infringement or a penalty up to $5,000.
