All landowners and occupiers of land within the City of Bayswater are advised to comply with firebreak conditions by 1 November 2019 or within fourteen days of becoming an owner or occupier up to and including 31 March 2020. Land 2000 square metres or less must have all inflammable matter removed. All other land must have 3-metre firebreaks cleared inside external boundaries and around buildings. Failure to comply may result in council undertaking the work and recovering costs, with a penalty of up to $5,000. Burning off is prohibited.
