Acting pursuant to the powers conferred by regulation 38b of the rottnest island regulations 1988, the rottnest island authority hereby closes the following waters to all vessels, excluding bona fide emergency and authorised vessels. Thomson bay between 12:00pm friday 30 december 2022 and 12:00pm on sunday 1 january 2023. All the waters within— • 250 metre radius of position 115° 33.323e 31° 59.575n, and • 100 metre radius of position 115° 33.12e 32° 02.26n (ranger 4 emergency mooring) authorised emergency service vessels and approved service vessels are permitted to access these waters. A barge and support vessel will be anchored at the centre point to facilitate the fireworks. Orange flag floats will be deployed to indicate the boundaries of each area. Mariners are advised that they will not be able to follow fr6m 5m leads at 277° into thomson bay. These restrictions have been introduced for the purpose of public safety.
